Frugality includes all other virtues – Cicero

About Me

About me

Hi, I’m Catherine, also known as Frugal Rich Mom on Pinterest and YouTube. My blog is all about teaching you how to make the most of what you have, while still achieving a luxurious end result. This is why I chose the name Frugal Rich Mom.

First things first, I’m not a cat – it’s just one of the many nicknames my family calls me by. However, there is a certain luxurious frugality about cats that I identify with, which is why I chose a cat photo for my About Me page. Plus, let’s be honest – I was being frugal and didn’t want to spend money on a professional photo shoot!

Frugality has always been a part of my life. Even when I was living below the poverty line, I found ways to look and feel like I was living a rich life. One of my biggest inspirations was the verse “Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” The beauty of wild lilies inspired me to live richly, even on a budget.

I believe that having money makes life easier, but it’s not a requirement to feel rich. I’ve proven this by living on just $500 a month in California, including rent and with no outside support. I’ve traveled across America, and ended up with $1000 more than I started with. I’ve even received compliments on my thrifted $1 clothes. By sharing my tips and tricks for living richly while saving money and conserving resources, I hope to build a community of people who see frugality as a fundamental virtue.

Thank you for joining me on this journey towards a more frugal, yet rich life!
